Potteryshop.nl is the online presentation of the Ooyse Kleischuur. The Ooyse Kleischuur was officially founded on January 8, 2018 by Ans Stronkman-Buiting and Jan Stronkman (Chamber of Commerce no. 70837325, SBI code: 85.52.2)
In 2013, Ans and Jan started taking pottery lessons together at the Volksuniversiteit in Zevenaar with the well-known art potter Laurens Goldewijk.

Ans has developed into a very skilled potter, under the inspiring guidance of the master himself.
She is the Chief Clay Officer of De Ooyse Kleischuur.

Jan, on the other hand, finds his motivation mainly in sculpting; 'playing' with the clay. And the necessary administrative settlements of the clay shed. He has been appointed Chief Play Officer to support Ans.
History of 'the barn'. The Ooyse Kleischuur is located at Pannerdenseweg 8 in Ooy near Zevenaar (6905 SE), where our home is also located (built in 1925). The barn was most likely built by a number of brothers of Dinie Buiting-Witjes (mother of Ans) somewhere in the late 1950s of the last century. At that time as shelter for a few cows (maybe even just 1..) and pigs.
After Dinie married Jan Buiting, the barn became more of a hobby and storage function, in this case for Jan's rabbits and the materials/tools to maintain the land and garden.
After a thorough renovation in 2017, during which the original walls were kept intact, a beautiful authentic space was created to which the Ooyse Kleischuur now owes its name.
Below you will find a photo impression of the metamorphosis of the barn.
